Say what you want about The Calhoun Beach Club, and it's generally
unecessarily pretentious-ass crowd, (we're not in L.A., you fucks,
that's WHY it's cool) The View has a great happy hour, good food, and
that sweet "view" of hotts running the lake.

Some of these are easy...

Like landmarks that say the names of areas! Uptown might have its
share of dirty, smelly hippies and it's share of stupid, smelly
suburban douchebag tourists...but it still generally rocks and has
some gems.

Let's talk about breakfast...

It's the most important meal of the day! Especially if you're hung over. These things happen.

A spot I love (This is never really going to be about what's "best", because shit, there's TONS of awesome around here...)

The Birchwood.

Not only does this place have killer EVERY meal, it's got one of the greatest brunches around. Menu changes a lot (as they should) due to the fact that The Birchwood likes to use seasonal, local products. (As they should.)

From the smoked trout eggs benedict to the savory waffles to the (redonkulous) berry cobblers, there's literally nothing that's not good.

If you live DT or UT, it's a bit of a hike, but trust me, make the drive. It's hidden, but be ready to wait, those that know know, this shit be delicious.

You may see on the side a link to ThriftyHipster.com, and you should go there, because not only is the site itself one of the cooler things in Mpls, it's M+ because we love to drink. We have federal grants for drinking here.

You're going to see a lot of bars on CIM, because I am in bars a lot. I will be very judgmental, because that is my way and this is my blog.

There are many bars that are decidedly M+. Nick and Eddies. The Bulldog (Uptown and N.E., but not Lowertown, even though that's a great bar, this isn't "CodyIsTheTwinCites.com" because while St.Paul has it's charms, Party Hotty Central it is not.) The list can and will go on.

There are bars that are decidedly NOT M+. Douche-bag Centrals with Suburban Super Stupid Sluts. But this is a positive vibe website for the most part, so I'm not going to name names. (Cough, Cow-cough-boy-cough Slims. Cough. Cough)

We get it, you think Minneapolis is cool. It's "kick-ass", you say. X#, as the kids say.

I'll wait.

Ok.

I don't want to turn this into a Boner Party for Mpls, but that's probably what's going to happen anyway. (Speaking of, one of the best things about M+ is the girls. Man, they are cute. "Midwest Eights", as Ned says.)

Minneapolis has everything you need except for an endless summer. You know how I know Mpls is awesome? Because people like it so much they stay through winters that would make a Siberian say "Fuck it, I'm movin' to Cabo." That's reason number one.

Numbers 2-5 are: Art, Theater, Food, Music. (Yeah, I'm one of *those* people, take off if you don't like it.)

We also (for those who care) have all 4 major professional sports, AND soccer. (HA! Soccer jokes are too easy.)

This is the easy list. I'm not going to do this again. You're just going to have to stick around and find out about the singular things that make Minneapolis great.
